Ramco Point - Only a short drive from Waikerie on the banks of the river and backed by a bird filled lagoon. Lock 2 - View the beautiful area near to the Lock. They can be entered during the day for picnic/recreational purposes. Watch the river traffic using the Lock Chamber, and marvel at the abdundant birdlife. Holder Bend - A very popular tourist picnic spot Hogwash Bend - Near Qualco a lovely spot for the kids to experience the river and the sandbars - ideal camping spot. Waikerie Gliding Club - Joy flights, instruction and accommodation. www.waikerieglidingclub.com.au Glue Pot Reserve - Over 135 varieties of birds. Collect key and information from Shell Service Station, Waikerie (Small deposit required). Ramco Road Fauna Park - Opposite the Waikerie Caravan Park. Feed the emus and kangaroos. Bush Safari Co Pty Ltd - An ideal opportunity to see river country North West of the Waikerie township from the top of a camel or an OKA (Aust made 4WD). River scenery and outback country. RSL Club and War Museum - 10 Thompson Street - Open 12 noon to 5pm with bar service and library. RSL is closed Saturday and Sunday. Waikerie and District Machinery Preservation Society Museum - Rundays on Saturday of June longweekend. Open by appointment. Benson Park - Century old property in rural setting. Great atmosphere for children. Catering for trail riding, twilight rides, bush walking, kids birthday parties, bush banquet barn, relaxing with the puzzle king. The Waikerie Ferry - Adjacent to the Riverfront lawns, the ferry offers a unique experience for many visitors. Take a ride to Taylorville via Taylorville Road and day trip to the Historic town of Morgan or the old copper mining town of Burra. The free 24 hour ferry service enables sight seeing by crossing the mighty Murray. Maize Island Lagoon Conservation Park - via Holder Road is a great natural wetlands abundant with flora and fauna.
